Welcome to the Traveller Tairing Website.
This website contains stories and creative digital content which reflects the lives and experiences of the Irish Traveller Community in Tara Park, Liverpool. Translated from Cant, the Irish Traveller Language, Traveller’s Tairing means Travellers telling Stories. This project set out to support the Tara Park residents in telling their stories through the use of digital content, supported by a wireless network.
The images, animations and short films contained in this site have been created by and in partnership with Tara Park residents of all ages.
With support from the Mersey Broadband Fund, the International Centre for Digital Content, Liverpool John Moores University, has led a strong partnership which supports the aims of this innovative project. This project has been made possible with the support of local film maker Kim Ryan, Irish Community Care, Ethnic Minority Traveller Achievement Service, Trinity Primary School, St Benedicts and the Mobile Youth Project.
